How to Apply

New for the 2025-26 fiscal year, grant requests will be considered in two funding cycles.

First Funding Cycle:

  1. Letter of Inquiry deadline for the first round is 8/8/25
  2. If you are invited to submit a full proposal, the application
    deadline is 10/10/25
  3. Proposals will be reviewed in November 2025

Second Funding Cycle:

  1. Letter of Inquiry deadline for the second round is 2/6/26
  2. If you are invited to submit a full proposal, the application deadline is 4/10/26
  3. Proposals will be reviewed in May 2026

Please be aware that this is a two-stage process.

STEP 1: LETTER OF INQUIRY

If you believe that your project meets our guidelines, the first step is to email a letter of inquiry by the deadlines posted above. 

This is an opportunity for you to tell us about your organization and what the project will do for your organization.  The letter of inquiry should be no longer than 2 pages and should include the following:

  1. The organization’s name, contact information and mission
  2. The proposed project and the need it is addressing 
  3. The approximate starting date and duration of the project
  4. The total budget for the project  
  5. Anticipated dollar range of this funding request
  6. Other anticipated sources of funds, secured or requested (Individual donors do not need to be identified)
  7. 501(c)(3) determination letter

The documents should be emailed to the Trustees of the Fitzpatrick Trust at: office@fitzpatricktrust.org  

The Fitzpatrick Trust will respond to each organization’s letter of inquiry, advising whether a full proposal will be considered or not. We may also request a site visit or interview during the application process.

If you are informed that we will consider a full proposal, please submit the following information:

STEP 2: FULL PROPOSAL

  1. Complete the application cover sheet that will be emailed to you
  2. Expand on the letter of inquiry by sending an updated and full description of the specific project for which funding is requested.
  3. Fully describe the need for the project and the desired outcomes
  4. Include a project budget
  5. Provide an update on funding received and pending for the project.
  6. Images may be included
